This handwoven willow lantern with an open lattice weave is a natural alternative to classic feeding cages. Animals have to obtain food through the barrier of the lattice – pulling, tearing and manipulating it through the individual openings. This naturally extends feeding time and supports fine motor skills, persistence and problem solving.

The removable lid makes filling easy. The basket can be filled with smaller food items as well as whole vegetables, such as a head of lettuce, which the animals gradually tear out through the lattice.

Each piece is handwoven, so dimensions may vary slightly.

Due to its open weave, the basket is less robust than fully woven willow products. We therefore recommend considering how forcefully the particular animals are likely to handle it.
